I've killed it this week. Not my greatest killer week, but still a killer! I have burned over 4,000 calories so far this week and still have a kickboxing class to attend tomorrow morning! Kickin it!
I have an injury as of today. Yep. Darn it !!! I've gone 6 months with no injuries and this week of all weeks is not the time to be having an injury. It's my tricep on left arm. I must have done it in class on Tuesday night. We did lots of tricep and bicep exercises with weights and a resistance band. I knew I'd be sore, but I never thought I'd wake up feeling like I did this morning. When I went to bed, had no pain. Woke up with the MOTHER OF SORENESS in my left arm. I could not bend it. I thought to myself, 'Wow! This hurts, but I'm sure I'll be fine once I get to class and work it out'.
I was half right.
I got to Y Firm Plus class this morning and we stretched and warmed up. I was doing good. I was working it. The class is an hour and a half long and it was totally amazing! Jumping jacks, push ups, planks (which I could only do on my knees due to my arm), squats, dead lifts with a weighted bar, balancing on one leg doing dead lifts.. that class had it all. I LOVED it. I left feeling great and that my arm was gonna be ok.
The endorfins wore off too soon. I got in my car and was headed to Target and WHAM! my arm was in total pain again. It felt like my muscle was just wrapped up into a ball. Hurt to touch my arm and hurt to move it. Back to no bending.
I got home and immediately got some ice on it. That seemed to make it worse. A frozen arm that wasn't moving at all and the pain was pulsing. Time for heat. Ahhhh! Heat! Heat always makes injuries feel better. I am gonna take a couple days off of using that arm. I am going to kickboxing tomorrow morning, but I won't be doing any hooks or upper cuts with that arm. I can still kick and jump around though!
So here I sit, typed this post up with one hand. What a bummer! I think I'll head back to the couch with the heating pad.
